The Matchbox Studio

At The Matchbox Studio, we use top-of-the-line recording equipment to ensure the highest audio & video quality for your podcast. Our setup includes:
– 3x Canon EOS C70 4K cinema cameras (the same as on Diary of a CEO, we’ll have you know!)
– 4x industry-standard Shure SM7B microphones
– Blackmagic Atem Mini ISO Extreme switcher (capable of recording up to 8x video ISO tracks)
– Rødecaster Pro II audio interface, recording guest ISO tracks and allowing you dial in remote guests whether by phone or video call
– Elgato Prompter XL with StreamDeck+ for quick and easy pieces to camera, having “hands-free” notes on-screen, or for dialling in a remote guest
– Professional-grade software for optimal sound capture and clarity (Vision Mix recordings are accompanied by a Davinci Resolve project file)

The studio itself has a professional 7-light set-up which can be fully-customised.

All of this is combined with an acoustically treated room to ensure the best audio recording quality.

The duration of one-off sessions booked through our website is 90 minutes.

We offer more bespoke recording days in which you can block out the entire day to record multiple sessions at once, great when it is tricky to secure your host and guests.

Absolutely! We welcome guests to join your recording session at Matchbox Studios. Whether you’re hosting interviews, panel discussions, or collaborative episodes, our studio environment is designed to accommodate multiple speakers comfortably. Just let us know in advance how many guests you plan to bring so we can ensure adequate seating and equipment setup.

After your recording session, you’ll receive your final podcast episodes in a convenient digital format. We typically deliver edited episodes in commonly used formats such as MP3 or WAV, ensuring compatibility with most podcast hosting platforms. Additionally, you’ll also receive the raw audio files for each episode, giving you the flexibility to further edit or archive your content as needed.

Absolutely you can! We are perfectly set up to do single-person recordings. You can even dial in your guests virtually, recording both their audio and video (as well as yours, of course!).

Recording-only: Within 24 hours. Or, if you bring a drive with you, you can leave with them after your session has ended!

Edited: Typically within 72 hours.

Whilst the live-cut “vision mix” will suffice for most situations, we offer a more bespoke approach for podcasters and businesses looking for a 4k output and cut-down social media edits.

Editing also allows us to top & tail your podcast with your media and branding and also ensure it’s the most polished it can be.

Yes! We regularly run multi-cam live-stream events, and the studio is no different. We can stream to any platform of your choice.

No, the standard recording time is 90 minutes.

If you need to cancel a pre-booked session (booked through this website), we offer:

• a full refund if given 48 hours notice
• 50% of booking value for 24 hours notice
• No refund on anything less than 24 hours out

For on-going podcast production, you will be asked to sign T&Cs with specific cancellation terms.
